Membership

Membership is by invitation.  Most new member firms come as a result of a recommendation by a member.  Membership is limited to 40 firms and generally the firms have at least 750 employees. The group follows a grandfather policy which basically says, “once a member always welcome” as long as the member is still in the AEC Industry.  As a result, there are some member firms with fewer employees due to relocation of an individual member to a smaller firm in the industry.

Typically the individual representing a firm is the CFO or Controller.   The agenda topics are those issues being dealt with at the senior level of financial management in the firms. Discussions are kept at this high level in order not to get bogged down in minor issues.

There is no cost to join DFOG and there are no monthly or annual membership dues.  All member firms share the cost of meeting preparation whether attending a meeting or not.  In addition, attendees share in the cost of meals, etc that are provided at the meeting.  Costs vary according to location since costs in some cities such as New York are more expensive than, for example, Kansas City.  Member firms can expect the cost to participate in DFOG will be less than $1,500 per year.
